The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon content, as specified in the national standard GB700-88. Q235A comprises a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%, showcasing subtle yet significant material distinctions within these carbon steels.
Typically, steel mills imprint the profiles on identification plates before dispatching from the factory, enabling users to ascertain if the material is Q235A, Q235B, or alternatives. The design allows for pressure up to 1.6MPa, operational temperatures between 0 and 350ºC, and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
