Defined by the national standard GB/T 700-2006 "Carbon Structural Steel," Q235B is one of the most prevalent steel products in China. The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies in their classification as carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, Q235A and Q235B are primarily distinguished by their carbon content. Q235A features a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%, providing unique properties for specific applications.
Typically, steel mills imprint the material specifications on identification plates before dispatching the profiles. Users can determine whether the steel is Q235A, Q235B, or another grade by examining the identification plate. These materials are applicable under conditions with design pressure P≤1.6MPa and operating temperatures between 0~350ºC, with plate thickness starting at 20mm.
