What is pickling steel?
Pickling is a transformative metal surface cleaning process, utilized primarily post-metal formation. This meticulous process involves immersing metal into a specialized acid solution known as pickling liquor, effectively cleansing the surface. The choice of acid is tailored to the specific metal; for most low alloy steels, hydrochloric acid is preferred. For metals with notable acid resistance, a stronger acid or a multi-step pickling method may be necessary to achieve optimal cleaning results.
How is pickling performed?
The pickling process begins with rinsing the metal to remove significant dirt and debris. After this initial cleaning, the metal is submerged in a bath of pickling liquor, where the acid diligently removes surface impurities. To ensure the integrity of the metal, it is essential to adhere to a predetermined immersion time, preventing undue exposure. With the right combination of pickling liquor and immersion duration, impurities are expertly removed, minimizing metal loss. Post-pickling, the metal is rinsed once more and often undergoes a protective oiling process.

3, Additional applications include various bicycle components, diverse welded pipes, electrical cabinets, highway guardrails, supermarket and warehouse shelving, fences, iron ladders, and uniquely shaped stamping parts.
