What is Q235B steel?

The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies in their classification as carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, these two steels are primarily distinguished by their carbon content. Q235A boasts a carbon content range of 0.14-0.22%.
Typically, steel mills ensure the identification of finished profiles by marking them on the identification plates prior to dispatch. This allows users to easily determine whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variant, as indicated on the identification plate. The design pressure for these steels should be P≤1.6MPa, with an operational temperature range of 0~350ºC, and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
