The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B steels lies in their classification as carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, the primary variance between these materials is the carbon content. Q235A features a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%.
Typically, steel mills affix identification plates to finished profiles before dispatching them from the factory. These identification markers allow users to ascertain whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another specification. The design parameters specify that pressure P should not exceed 1.6MPa, operational temperatures range from 0~350ºC, and the steel plate thickness should be at least 20mm.
