What is Q235B steel?
Q235B steel plate is a highly reliable low carbon steel that adheres to the national standard GB/T 700-2006, known as "Carbon Structural Steel." The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The fundamental distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies in their carbon content, as specified in the national standard GB700-88 for carbon steels. Q235A features a carbon composition ranging from 0.14-0.22%, which alters its properties slightly compared to Q235B.
In general practice, steel mills meticulously label the finished profiles with identification plates prior to dispatch. Customers can confidently determine if the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variant by inspecting these plates. Typically, Q235B accommodates design pressures up to P≤1.6MPa and operates efficiently within the temperature range of 0~350ºC, with steel plate thickness starting from 20mm.
