What is pickling steel?
Pickling is a sophisticated and essential metal surface purification process utilized predominantly after metal formation. This technique involves immersing the metal in an acid solution, referred to as pickling liquor. The composition of this acid varies based on the metal type; for most low alloy steels, hydrochloric acid is employed. Metals with high acid resistance may require a more potent acid or a two-step pickling process to achieve optimal surface cleanliness.
How is pickling performed?
Prior to pickling, metals undergo an initial rinse to eliminate substantial dirt and debris. Post-rinsing, the metal is submerged in a pickling liquor bath, where the acid meticulously cleanses the surface impurities. After a controlled immersion period, the metal is extracted to avoid excess acid exposure. With precise acid concentration and immersion timing, surface imperfections are efficiently eradicated with minimal metal loss. The final rinse follows, after which the metal often undergoes an oiling process to further protect and enhance its surface.

Additional components include anticollision bumpers, brake sleeves, and various small but crucial interior car parts.
2, Machinery industry, exclusive of automobiles, incorporates sectors like textile machinery, mining equipment, fans, and various generalized machinery. Components such as compressor shells, brackets, water heater liners, and chemical oil drums are utilized.
3, In other sectors, pickling steel finds use in bicycle components, various welded pipes, electrical cabinets, highway guardrails, supermarket and warehouse shelving, fences, iron ladders, and a multitude of uniquely shaped stamping parts.
