Q: When should I choose a "Universal" expansion joint instead of a "Single" one?
A: You need a Universal (Double Bellows) joint when your piping system requires absorption of large lateral movements (misalignment) that a single joint cannot handle. It acts like two joints connected by a pipe, offering much greater flexibility.

Q: What is the function of the Tie Rods? Should I remove them after installation?
A: Do NOT remove the tie rods. For a Tied Expansion Joint, the rods are designed to restrain the pressure thrust generated by internal pressure, preventing the bellows from over-extending. They are essential for the safety of the unit.

Q: Can you customize the length of the intermediate pipe?
A: Yes. The length of the center pipe spool is critical because it determines how much lateral movement the joint can absorb. We can manufacture it exactly according to your design requirements or drawings.
