What is pickling steel?
Pickling is an essential metal surface cleaning process, strategically employed following the metal formation stage. This meticulous process cleanses metal by immersing it into a specialized acid bath, known as pickling liquor. The choice of acid varies depending on the type of metal; most commonly, hydrochloric acid is used for low alloy steels. However, for metals with high acid resistance, a more potent acid or a sophisticated two-step pickling method may be required to achieve impeccable cleaning results.
How is pickling performed?
In preparation for pickling, a metal is initially rinsed to meticulously remove any large particles of dirt and debris. After this cleansing step, the metal is submerged in a bath of pickling liquor. Here, the acid diligently removes surface impurities. To prevent overexposure, the metal is retrieved after a specific immersion duration. With the perfect balance of pickling liquor and immersion time, surface irregularities are eliminated with minimal metal loss. Post pickling, the metal undergoes a final rinse and frequently an oiling process to enhance its finish.

2, Machinery industry (excluding automobiles) applications span textile machinery, mining machinery, fans, and general machinery parts. It includes compressor shells, brackets, water heater liners, and chemical oil drums.
