The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B steels lies in their composition as carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, Q235A and Q235B are differentiated mainly by their carbon content. Specifically, Q235A possesses a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%.
Typically, steel mills provide identification plates for finished profiles prior to dispatch. These plates enable users to ascertain whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another type. The design parameters include a pressure P≤1.6MPa, usage temperature from 0 to 350ºC, and a steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
