What is pickling steel?
Pickling is an essential process of cleaning metal surfaces, predominantly employed after metal has been formed. This vital procedure involves immersing the metal in a special acidic solution, often referred to as pickling liquor. The choice of acid within the pickling liquor depends largely on the type of metal being treated. For most low alloy steels, hydrochloric acid is typically utilized to efficiently cleanse the metal surface. In cases where metals exhibit high resistance to acids, a more potent acid or a comprehensive two-step pickling method may be necessary to meet the desired level of cleanliness.
How is pickling performed?
The pickling process begins with an essential pre-rinse, effectively eliminating large particles of dirt and debris from the metal surface. Next, the metal is carefully submerged into the pickling liquor bath, where the acid actively removes impurities from its surface. It is crucial to adhere to a predetermined immersion time to avoid overexposure to the acid, ensuring impurities are removed while minimizing metal loss. Once the desired cleaning is achieved, the metal is withdrawn and undergoes a subsequent rinse. Often, the pickling process concludes with a vital oiling phase, promoting preservation and protection of the newly cleaned surface.

Additional applications include various stamping parts such as anti-collision bumpers, brake sleeves, and other interior car components.
2, Machinery industry (excluding automobiles) applications are expansive, involving textile machinery, mining machinery, fans, and various general machinery components. This includes compressor shells, brackets, water heater liners, and chemical oil drums.
3, Diverse applications also extend to other bicycle parts, various welded pipes, electrical cabinets, highway guardrails, supermarket and warehouse shelves, fences, iron ladders, and an array of stamping parts with diverse shapes.
