The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The subtle distinctions between Q235A and Q235B lie in their carbon content, as specified by the national standard GB700-88. Both are esteemed carbon steels, with Q235A featuring a carbon content of 0.14-0.22%, lending each variant its unique properties.
Typically, before leaving the factory, steel mills label finished profiles on identification plates, enabling users to easily determine whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variant. These plates meet design pressures up to 1.6MPa, withstand temperatures from 0 to 350ºC, and have a steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
