Q235A and Q235B, both classified as carbon steels, are distinguished primarily by their carbon content as defined in the national standard GB700-88. Q235A contains carbon within a range of 0.14-0.22%. This subtle variation in carbon content can influence the material's properties and applications.
Typically, steel mills ensure that finished profiles are clearly marked on identification plates before dispatch. This allows users to easily verify the material, whether it is Q235A, Q235B, or another type. These plates are designed for conditions with design pressure P≤1.6MPa, operational temperatures ranging from 0 to 350ºC, and a steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
