What is pickling steel?
Pickling is an essential metal surface cleansing process, primarily employed post-metal formation. It purifies metal surfaces by immersing the metal in an acid solution termed pickling liquor. This acid varies depending on the metal: for most low alloy steels, hydrochloric acid is typically used. However, for metals exhibiting high acid resistance, a stronger acid or a two-step pickling technique may be necessary to achieve optimal surface cleanliness.
How is pickling performed?
Before pickling, metals are usually rinsed with a solution to eliminate large dirt particles and debris. Post-rinsing, the metal is submerged in a pickling liquor bath where the acid actively cleanses the surface by removing impurities. The process requires careful timing to prevent overexposure to the acid, ensuring minimal metal loss while achieving a smooth surface. After the desired immersion period, the metal is withdrawn and rinsed again. Often, it then undergoes a process called oiling to further enhance its surface condition.

Wheels such as rims and spokes, cockpit panels, and the bottoms of various truck carriages. Other stamped parts include anti-collision bumpers, brake sleeves, and interior car components.
2, Machinery industry (excluding automobiles) encompasses textile machinery, mining machinery, fans, and general machinery. Applications include compressor shells, brackets, water heater liners, and chemical oil drums.
3, additional applications involve various bicycle parts, a wide array of welded pipes, electrical cabinets, highway guardrails, supermarket and warehouse shelves, fences, iron ladders, and diverse shaped stamping parts.
