The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies in their carbon composition, both being carbon steels. As outlined in the national standard GB700-88, Q235A is characterized by a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%. This subtle difference impacts material performance and application.
Typically, before leaving the factory, steel mills mark the finished profiles on identification plates. This allows users to easily verify whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or other types. These materials are designed for pressures up to 1.6MPa and temperatures between 0° to 350°C, with a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
