What is Q235B steel?
Q235B steel plate is a highly versatile low carbon steel, defined under the national standard GB/T 700-2006 'Carbon Structural Steel'. As one of the most prevalent steel products in China, Q235B is renowned for its cost-effectiveness and suitability for a wide range of applications, specifically those not demanding high-performance characteristics.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon content, both being classified as carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, Q235A features a carbon content of 0.14-0.22%, distinguishing it from Q235B.
Typically, steel mills label finished profiles on identification plates before shipment. This allows users to identify if the material is Q235A, Q235B, or other grades. The steel is designed for a pressure P≤1.6MPa, operates within a temperature range of 0~350ºC, and applies when the steel plate thickness is >=20mm.
