What is pickling steel?
Pickling is an essential metal surface cleaning procedure predominantly employed after metal formation. This process effectively purifies a metal surface by immersing it in an acidic solution, commonly referred to as pickling liquor. The composition of this acid varies depending on the metal type, but for most low alloy steels, hydrochloric acid is utilized. For metals possessing high acid resistance, a more potent acid or a two-phase pickling process may be necessary, ensuring optimal cleaning results are achieved.
How is pickling performed?
The pickling process begins with a preliminary rinse to eliminate substantial dirt and debris from the metal surface. Subsequently, the metal is submerged in a pickling liquor bath, where the acid diligently eradicates surface impurities. It's crucial to adhere to a specific immersion duration to avert excessive exposure to the acid. With the appropriate pickling liquor and precise immersion timing, surface irregularities are meticulously removed with minimal metal loss. Post immersion, the metal undergoes a final rinse, frequently followed by an oiling process to enhance the surface.

2, Machinery industry (excluding automotive) applications encompass textile machinery, mining machinery, fans, and various general machinery components. This includes compressor shells, brackets, water heater liners, and chemical oil drums.
