Q235B steel plate is a type of low carbon steel, highly recognized under the national standard GB/T 700-2006 "Carbon Structural Steel." This steel is a staple in China's market, known for its affordability and versatility, ideal for use in products where high-performance is not a necessity.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon content, as specified in the national standard GB700-88. Both are categorized under carbon steels, but Q235A material contains a carbon percentage ranging from 0.14 to 0.22%.
Typically, before leaving the factory, steel mills affix identification plates to finished profiles. These plates allow users to distinguish whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another type. The design pressure is noted as P≤1.6MPa, with an operational temperature range of 0~350ºC, and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
