The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
Q235A and Q235B are both classified as carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, the primary distinction between these two materials lies in their carbon content. Q235A features a carbon content range of 0.14-0.22%. This difference in composition influences their respective mechanical properties and applications.
Typically, steel mills will inscribe key details on identification plates attached to finished profiles before dispatch. These plates allow users to quickly ascertain whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another grade. The design pressure is P≤1.6MPa, suitable for use at temperatures ranging from 0 to 350ºC, and the steel plate thickness is required to be >=20mm.
