The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies in their carbon content, both being carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, Q235A's carbon content ranges from 0.14% to 0.22%, which is a significant factor in differentiating these materials.
Typically, steel mills ensure that finished profiles are clearly marked on identification plates before dispatching from the factory. This allows users to discern whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variant. These steels are engineered for design pressures P≤1.6MPa, operating temperatures between 0~350ºC, with a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
