The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
Both Q235A and Q235B are carbon steels as per the national standard GB700-88, differentiated chiefly by their carbon content. Q235A comprises a carbon content range of 0.14-0.22%, while Q235B offers slightly different characteristics tailored to specific needs.
Before departing the factory, steel mills mark finished profiles on identification plates. These enable users to identify if the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another type. This system ensures quality assurance with parameters such as design pressure P≤1.6MPa, temperature range of 0~350ºC, and a steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
