What is pickling steel?
Pickling is an essential metal surface cleaning process, predominantly utilized after the metal has been formed. This procedure effectively cleanses the metal by immersing it in an acid solution, known as pickling liquor. The choice of acid varies with the type of metal; for example, low alloy steels typically use hydrochloric acid. In cases of metals highly resistant to acids, a stronger acid or a dual-step pickling process may be employed to attain optimal cleaning results.
How is pickling performed?
Prior to pickling, metals are generally rinsed to eliminate large dirt particles and debris. Subsequently, the metal is submerged in a pickling liquor bath. During immersion, the acid meticulously removes surface impurities. The metal is extracted from the bath after a predetermined duration to avoid excessive acid exposure. With the correct liquor and immersion time, surface imperfections are efficiently erased with minimal metal loss. After extraction, the metal undergoes a secondary rinse and is typically followed by an oiling process to ensure surface integrity.
The Application of pickling steel

Additionally, it covers other stamped parts, including anti-collision bumpers, brake sleeves, and various interior car components.
2, Machinery industry (excluding automotive) applications span textile and mining machinery, fans, general machinery, compressor shells, brackets, water heater liners, and chemical oil drums.
3, Other applications encompass bicycle components, assorted welded pipes, electrical cabinets, highway guardrails, supermarket and warehouse shelves, fences, iron ladders, and various stamped parts.
