What is pickling steel?
Pickling is a sophisticated and crucial metal surface cleaning process that takes place after a metal has been formed. This meticulous cleaning method involves immersing the metal into a specialized acid solution known as pickling liquor. The choice of acid used in the pickling liquor is critical and varies based on the metal type. For most low alloy steels, hydrochloric acid is preferred, whereas metals with higher resistance to acids may require a more potent acid or a dual-step pickling approach to achieve pristine cleanliness.
How is pickling performed?
The pickling process begins with a thorough rinsing of the metal to eliminate large particles of dirt and debris. Subsequently, the metal is submerged in a pickling liquor bath, where the acid diligently removes surface impurities. After the metal is immersed for a predetermined time to avoid excessive acid exposure, it is extracted from the bath. By selecting the right pickling liquor and adhering to the optimal immersion duration, impurities are effectively cleared with minimal metal loss. Following its removal, the metal undergoes a secondary rinse and often proceeds to an oiling process to enhance finish and protection.

It also covers wheels, including rims and spokes, cockpit panels, and the undercarriage of various trucks. Additionally, it encompasses other stamped parts like anti-collision bumpers, brake sleeves, and numerous small car interior components.
2, Machinery industry (excluding automobiles) applications are diverse, featuring textile machinery, mining machinery, fans, and several general machinery components. Notable items include compressor shells, brackets, water heater liners, and chemical oil drums.
3, Other applications include a wide range of bicycle parts, various welded pipes, electrical cabinets, highway guardrails, supermarket shelves, warehouse racks, fences, iron ladders, and stamped parts of assorted shapes.
