The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies in their carbon content, as specified in the national standard GB700-88. Both are carbon steels, but Q235A features a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%. This subtle yet crucial variation influences their performance and application.
Typically, steel mills provide identification plates marking profiles before factory dispatch. Users can verify whether a material is Q235A, Q235B, or another specification based on these plates. Key parameters include design pressure P≤1.6MPa, operational temperature range of 0~350ºC, and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
