The Difference Between Q235A and Q235B
The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon content, as both are classified as carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, Q235A features a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%. This distinction in carbon percentage impacts the steel's properties, influencing factors such as strength and ductility, thus affecting its performance in various applications.
Typically, steel mills clearly mark finished profiles on identification plates before dispatch. These plates enable users to determine the material type, whether it be Q235A, Q235B, or others. The design pressure for these materials is ≤1.6MPa, with a usage temperature range of 0~350ºC, and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
