The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon composition, as outlined in the national standard GB700-88. Q235A features a carbon content ranging from 0.14-0.22%, showcasing subtle differences that can influence the material's suitability for various applications.
Typically, steel mills label finished profiles on identification plates prior to dispatch. This allows users to ascertain whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another type based on this plate. These designations are used under conditions like a design pressure of P≤1.6MPa, temperatures between 0~350ºC, and plate thicknesses of at least 20mm.
