What is Q235B steel?
Q235B steel plate is a widely used low carbon steel, renowned for its affordability and versatility. According to the national standard GB/T 700-2006 'Carbon Structural Steel,' it is one of China's most ubiquitous steel products, ideally suited for applications that do not necessitate high performance.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies in their carbon content, both being carbon steels under the national standard GB700-88. Q235A features a carbon content ranging from 0.14-0.22%, differentiating it from Q235B.
Typically, before departure from the factory, steel mills indicate the finished profiles on identification plates. This allows users to ascertain whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another classification. Suitable for design pressures up to 1.6MPa, operating temperatures between 0~350ºC, with a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
