The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B, both being carbon steels, is primarily based on carbon content as outlined in the national standard GB700-88. Specifically, Q235A material is characterized by a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%, offering a subtle difference in material performance.
Typically, steel mills label the finished profiles on identification plates prior to dispatch. This enables users to ascertain if the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variant, based on the identification plate details. The design parameters include a pressure P≤1.6MPa, an operational temperature range of 0~350ºC, and a steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
