The distinction between Q235A and Q235B steels, both categorized as carbon steels under the national standard GB700-88, primarily lies in their carbon content. Q235A material contains carbon ranging between 0.14% and 0.22%, marking its primary differentiation from Q235B.
Typically, steel mills label the finished profiles on identification plates before dispatch. This labeling enables users to distinguish whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variant, based on specifications such as design pressure (P≤1.6MPa), operational temperatures (0~350ºC), and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
