The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies in their classification as carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, the primary distinction between these two materials is their carbon content. Specifically, Q235A encompasses a carbon content range of 0.14-0.22%, providing a fundamental differentiation from Q235B.
Typically, before leaving the factory, finished profiles are marked on identification plates by steel mills. This allows users to discern whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another classification. The design specifications include a pressure of P≤1.6MPa, an operating temperature range of 0~350ºC, and a steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
