The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies in their carbon composition, both being classified under carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, Q235A features a carbon content ranging from 0.14-0.22%, which sets it apart from Q235B.
Typically, before leaving the manufacturing plant, steel mills ensure that the identification plates on finished profiles clearly indicate whether they are Q235A, Q235B, or other variants. With design pressure capped at P≤1.6MPa and operational temperatures ranging from 0 to 350ºC, the steel plate thickness is specified to be 20mm or more.
