What is Q235B steel?

The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon content, although both are carbon steels. According to the authoritative national standard GB700-88, Q235A comprises a carbon content ranging from 0.14-0.22%, setting it apart from its counterpart, Q235B.
Before departing from the factory, steel mills prominently mark the finished profiles on identification plates. This allows users to easily determine whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another type of steel by checking the identification plate. Features include design pressure P≤1.6MPa; operating temperature ranging from 0~350ºC; and steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
