The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon content, as both are types of carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, Q235A has a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%. This distinction is crucial for applications demanding specific material properties.
Typically, steel mills mark the finished profiles on identification plates prior to dispatch. These plates enable users to ascertain whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another specification. Design criteria include pressure P≤1.6MPa, operating temperatures between 0 and 350ºC, and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
