The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B steels, both classified as carbon steels, lies within the carbon content parameters as set by the national standard GB700-88. Specifically, Q235A contains a carbon range of 0.14-0.22%, which differentiates it from Q235B.
Typically, before exiting the factory, steel mills imprint identification plates on finished profiles, allowing users to distinguish materials such as Q235A, Q235B, or other classifications. These plates consider design pressure P≤1.6MPa and operational temperatures spanning from 0 to 350ºC, with a steel plate thickness requirement of at least 20mm.
