The difference between Q235A and Q235B: Both belong to the family of carbon steels, yet they diverge primarily in carbon composition as per the national standard GB700-88. Q235A contains a carbon range of 0.14-0.22%, which directly influences its properties and applications.
Typically, steel mills ensure that identification plates on finished profiles clearly indicate whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variant before distribution. This enables users to verify the material’s authenticity. They comply with design pressure P≤1.6MPa, operational temperatures between 0~350ºC, and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
