The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies within their carbon content, as both are categorized as carbon steels according to the national standard GB700-88. Specifically, Q235A is characterized by a carbon content ranging between 0.14-0.22%.
Typically, steel mills ensure the identification of finished profiles with marks on identification plates before dispatching from the factory. These plates enable users to discern whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variant. The design parameters include a pressure P≤1.6MPa, temperature range 0~350ºC, and a steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
