What is Q235B steel?

Defined clearly in the national standard GB/T 700-2006 'Carbon Structural Steel,' Q235B stands out as one of the most prevalent steel products in China. It is highly cost-effective and fits perfectly for applications where high performance is not a stringent requirement.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies chiefly in their carbon content, both being carbon steels. According to the national standard GB700-88, Q235A features a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%.
Typically, steel mills mark the identification plates on finished profiles before leaving the factory. Users can determine whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another type based on this identification. Design pressure is up to P≤1.6MPa, with a service temperature between 0~350ºC, and a steel plate thickness of at least 20mm.
