The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B steels lies primarily in their carbon content, as specified in the national standard GB700-88. While both are categorized as carbon steels, Q235A contains carbon in the range of 0.14-0.22%, which affects its overall properties and applications.
Ordinarily, steel mills label the finished profiles on identification plates prior to dispatch, allowing users to easily determine whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another designation. These materials support a design pressure up to 1.6MPa, operate within a temperature range of 0~350ºC, and are available in thicknesses of 20mm or more.
