The difference between Q235A and Q235B.
The distinction between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon content, as both fall under the category of carbon steels. According to national standard GB700-88, Q235A possesses a carbon content ranging from 0.14% to 0.22%, providing nuanced differences in material characteristics.
Typically, steel mills place identification plates on finished profiles prior to dispatch. These plates enable users to discern whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another variety. The design parameters include a pressure limit of P≤1.6MPa, operational temperatures from 0 to 350ºC, and a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
