The difference between Q235A and Q235B lies primarily in their carbon content as specified in the national standard GB700-88. Both belong to the category of carbon steels, but Q235A has a carbon content range of 0.14-0.22%, which distinguishes it from Q235B.
Usually, steel mills imprint key details on identification plates attached to finished profiles before dispatch. These plates allow users to ascertain whether the material is Q235A, Q235B, or another grade. The material is suitable for design pressures of P≤1.6MPa and operating temperatures of 0~350ºC, with a minimum steel plate thickness of 20mm.
