What is pickling steel?
Pickling is an advanced, yet crucial cleaning process for metal surfaces, typically conducted post-metal formation. This process involves immersing the metal in a specialized acid solution, the pickling liquor, which varies according to the metal type. For low alloy steels, hydrochloric acid is predominantly used. For metals that exhibit significant resistance to acids, either a stronger acid is employed or a two-step pickling process is necessary to achieve the ideal cleaning effect.
How is pickling performed?
The pickling process begins with a meticulous rinse to remove large dirt particles. The metal then takes a refreshing dip in the pickling liquor bath, where the acid works diligently to cleanse surface impurities. It is essential to adhere to specified immersion times to prevent overexposure. With the perfect blend of pickling liquor and precise immersion duration, surface imperfections are efficiently eliminated, preserving the metal's integrity. Post pickling, a final rinse is conducted, followed by a process known as oiling to enhance preservation.
The Application of pickling steel

2, Machinery industry applications (excluding automotive) encompass textile machinery, mining machinery, fans, and general machinery. Specific parts include compressor shells, brackets, water heater liners, and chemical oil drums.
3, Additional applications extend to diverse bicycle parts, an array of welded pipes, electrical cabinets, highway guardrails, supermarket shelves, warehouse shelves, fences, iron ladders, and various stamping components.
